The African Youth for the SDG Training (AYSDGT) has been officially launch in Mevick Bilingual Grammar School Yaounde, Cameroon coordinated by Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network Global (GCSAYN). The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the United Nations are the global blueprint of action for sustainable development.

The 17 goals that were initiated in 2015 are targeting the most pressing issues in the world and aiming to alleviate poverty, hunger and inequality as well as environmental degradation. Providing quality education is a fundamental step towards sustainable development in order to raise awareness and give everyone the opportunity to learn regardless of gender, origin and income.

In Mevick Educational Complex it should noted we have the primary and secondary sections in which the SDGs are being taught. In the primary section pupils are selected from all the classes (class 1 to 6) to participate in the dialogue so that they can inturn stand as advocates for the goals. In the secondary section we are given the chance to enter the different classes and have the dialogue with the students during their different free periods. This access given to speakers from GCSAYN to dialogue with the students and pupils on the 17 SDGs is very important towards obtaining sustainability. Mevick complex is actually in support of the SDG agenda by allowing access to their students and pupils. Now that the pupils and students of Mevick know and master the SDGs, we are rest assured that the young people are part of the accomplishment of the global goals ( agenda 2030).
